Just as it’s starting to feel properly chilly outside, I’ve taken delivery of a lovely new sheepskin rug. It’s sitting on my refurbished Ercol sofa, partly as a design feature and partly to protect it from the cats/children!
I love the versatility, warmth and tactile quality of sheepskin rugs, and the fact that they can add a real Scandi-luxe feel to interiors. I particularly love them draped over chairs and sofas, as in these images:

Time to come clean. The second image above (of designer Oliver Heath’s home) actually gave me the idea of buying a sheepskin to drape over the sofa when I saw it in an issue of LivingEtc. I think it’s even the same Ercol sofa design as ours. But hey, it’s called design inspiration, and I’m happy to give credit where credit’s due! I’m even considering getting some bolster cushions….
